Terms of use
These terms cover your use of DeskCity, the Mac app, and DeskCity Pro, its paid subscription. DeskCity is made by Joshua Lafrentz, a sole trader in New Zealand ("we"). By downloading or using DeskCity you agree to them.
The app
DeskCity has a free version you may use for as long as you like. You get a licence to use the app on your own Macs; you may not resell, redistribute or reverse-engineer it, or use it to break the law.
DeskCity Pro
New installs include a 14-day Pro trial with no payment details required. DeskCity Pro is a subscription billed monthly or yearly through Lemon Squeezy, our reseller and merchant of record, whose buyer terms also apply to your purchase. Each subscription includes a licence key you can activate on up to three Macs. It renews automatically until you cancel, which you can do at any time from the link in your receipt; you keep Pro until the end of the period you've paid for. We may change prices for future billing periods, and will tell you before a change affects you.
AI and third-party services
Some features connect to services you choose, such as an AI provider using your own account or key. Your use of those services is governed by their terms. AI output can be wrong; check anything important before relying on it, and review what DeskCity's assistant or your coding agents do on your Mac.
Your data
See our privacy policy. Your city, its growth and your settings live on your Mac.
No warranty
DeskCity is provided "as is". To the extent the law allows, we aren't liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for lost data; keep backups of anything important. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under consumer law, including the New Zealand Consumer Guarantees Act where it applies.
Changes
We may update these terms as DeskCity changes, and will post the new version here with its date.
